CVE-2015-5262
Publication date 30 September 2015
Last updated 24 July 2024
Ubuntu priority
http/conn/ssl/SSLConnectionSocketFactory.java in Apache HttpComponents HttpClient before 4.3.6 ignores the http.socket.timeout configuration setting during an SSL handshake, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (HTTPS call hang) via unspecified vectors.
From the Ubuntu Security Team
It was discovered that Apache Commons HttpClient did not properly handle read timeouts during HTTPS handshakes. A remote attacker could trigger this flaw to cause a denial of service.
